How many times has the enterprise network slowed to a crawl only to have IT discover that users have installed the trendiest bandwidth hog, such as streaming media and peer-to-peer networks trading music and movies? Or worse yet, thanks to vulnerabilities and bugs in popular communication apps such as AIM and Skype, many corporate networks are left open to attack. storage devices invite big problems |

In one much-publicized case, a former employee of a major financial institution unwittingly sold on eBay a wireless handheld device containing an ex-employer's customer list.
